Whether it’s coffee mugs, art for sale, or a calendar of events, almost every corner of the charming farmhouse-style coffee shop’s got something to look at. But recently, among those dangling trinkets and vintage plaques, several pieces of hanging art have taken over: Signs warning customers to stop illegally downloading content on property.
“Whomever is downloading movies illegally, PLEASE STOP!” the signs read. “My internet is going to be turned off permanently, because of your actions. PLEASE STOP!”
RACINE â The case against a man charged with murder fell apart during a five-day trial. Credibility issues with the chief witness were brought to the surface, and the Racine Police Department was accused of performing a lackluster investigation.

Man arrested for child porn, drugs in Racine County

CALEDONIA, Wis. - A 40-year-old man from the Village of Caledonia was arrested on Thursday, May 27 for possession of child pornography and drugs.
According to authorities, on May 27 investigators with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit conducted a search warrant for Possession of Child Pornography at a residence on Marwood Court in the Village of Caledonia.
During the search of the residence, investigators located numerous computers and computer storage devices in a locked office. Anabolic steroids, cocaine, and prescription drugs not belonging to Vanderbloomen were also located within the home.
RACINE â A judge and prosecutors were OK with a Racine County Jail inmate being let out to be a pall bearer at his sisterâs funeral. But the Wisconsin Department of Corrections intervened, keeping him behind bars instead of with his family to say his final goodbyes.

A lifelong sufferer from sickle cell anemia, Shemera Latrice Ramsey died suddenly at the age of 30 on May 15. Her family gathered for her funeral Friday morning. But Damien Bell, Ramseyâs brother who was supposed to be a pall bearer, wasnât there.

Inmates are allowed to leave incarceration for a short time for various reasons, such as to visit a sick loved one.
