American Magic survived a few hairy moments on their return to racing, 12 days after their spectacular capsize in the Prada Cup round robins. But the United States challenger could do nothing to stop Luna Rossa taking the first two races of their best-of-seven semi-final series, with the Italians afterwards firing out a warning to rival teams including Ineos Team UK, saying they had made “huge improvements” to their boat.
