WINNIPEG Health officials in Manitoba announced 12 new deaths related to COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 717. The youngest death on the day was a man in his 30s from the Northern Health Region. Two deaths came from the Prairie Mountain Health Region, including a man in his 60s and a woman in her 90s from the Fairview Personal Care Home outbreak. There was one death from the Southern Health Region, a woman in her 60s. The other eight deaths are from the Winnipeg area including: A woman in her 50s; A woman in her 60s linked to the outbreak at Convalescent Home of Winnipeg;
WINNIPEG Health officials in Manitoba announced that the province has added 10 new deaths linked to COVID-19, pushing the death toll over 700 since March on Wednesday. Eight of the new deaths are from the Winnipeg area, three of which are due to the outbreak at the Seven Oaks Hospital in unit 4U8-12. They include a woman in her 80s, a man in his 80s, and a woman in her 90s. Another death, a man in his 70s, is linked to the outbreak at the Golden Links Lodge. The remaining four deaths are a man in his 80s, two women in their 90s, and a man in his 90s, and are not linked to any outbreaks.

The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 10.4 per cent provincially and 11.1 per cent in Winnipeg. Between 9:30am on December 31, 2020, and 9:30am on January 2, 2021, 327 new cases of the virus have been identified. However, one case was removed due to data correction and brings the net new cases to 326 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 25,026.
Public health officials advise 11 additional deaths in people with COVID-19 have been reported today for the period of Jan. 1 and 2 including:
a male in his 50s from the Northern health region;

For a third time in December, public health officials announced 18 new deaths related to COVID-19 on Tuesday as new cases continued to fall across the province.
After announcing four deaths on Monday, a surge Tuesday saw the province’s death toll jump to 590 and back into double digits, including 13 deaths linked to outbreaks at long-term and acute care facilities as 155 new cases of the virus were identified the lowest single-day total since Nov. 3, and the fourth straight day of declining new case numbers.

The lowest single-day new caseload of COVID-19 since early November was reported by public health officials on Thursday, as 14 more people succumbed to the virus.
Dr. Brent Roussin announced 221 new cases during a news conference, the lowest since Nov. 3, when 103 were reported.

The provinceâs chief public health officer reported a second straight day of double-digit new deaths related to the coronavirus, pushing the provinceâs death toll to 537, with 226 of those coming in the first 17 days of the final month of the year.
