Intel has unleashed a new wave of 11th-generation Core processors, this time built for those who need a mobile workstation capable of doing heavier lifting for content creation and business applications than the increasingly popular ultra-thin laptops entering the market.
The new Core H-Series lineup, code-named Tiger Lake H, includes five Core and Xeon CPUs that come with Intel’s vPro platform capabilities for enterprise management, security and reliability, expanding upon the first batch of 11th-generation vPro processors that came out for ultra-thin laptops at the beginning of the year. New platform capabilities include support for DDR4 memory, Thunderbolt 4, 20 lanes of PCIe 4.0, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E, CPU-connected storage as well as Optane H20 storage.
The new 11th Generation Intel Core H-series mobile processors (code-named “Tiger Lake-H”) launched worldwide today, led by the flagship Intel Core i9-11980HK the “World’s Best Gaming Laptop Processor.” The Intel Core i9-11980HK delivers the highest-performance in laptops for gaming, content creators and business professionals reaching speeds of up to 5.0 gigahertz (GHz).
“11th Gen Intel Core H-series processors take mobile gaming, content creation and commercial workstation systems to new heights. These new H-series processors are an exciting extension of our 11th Gen mobile family with double-digit single core and multi-core performance improvements, leading gameplay, direct attached storage and 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes for true enthusiast-level platform bandwidth. 11th Gen H-series is the industry’s most performant mobile processor that empowers users to game, create and connect with leadership performance at any enthusiast form factor.” Chris Walker, Intel corporate vi
Intel introduces 11th Generation Core Tiger Lake H-series mobile processors
Intel has introduced new 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processors based on 10 nanometer SuperFin process technology, feature up to 8 cores and 16 threads, with single and dual-core turbo performance up to 5.0GHz. Additionally, the central processing unit (CPU) can directly access high-speed GDDR6 memory attached to the graphics card, enabling gamers to experience higher frame rates with lower latency, and load large textures faster. The mobile processor offers 2.5 times the total PCIe bandwidth to the CPU compared with the 10th Gen H-series processors, and three times the total PCIe bandwidth compared with other industry processors.

Intel has unleashed a new wave of 11th-generation Core processors, this time built for those who need a mobile workstation capable of doing heavier lifting for content creation and business applications than the increasingly popular ultra-thin laptops entering the market.
Intel has announced new 11th Gen Core H-series, vPro and Xeon processors. Aimed at gaming and business, these new high-performance CPU options should push the envelope for mobile processors.
The new Core H processors, led by the flagship Core i9-11980HK, use Intel’s 10nm ‘SuperFin’ process technology, feature up to eight cores and 16 threads and have both single- and dual-core turbo performance up to 5GHz. Additionally, Intel notes that the H-series chips can directly access the fast GDDR6 memory attached to the GPU to help deliver higher frame rates and reduce latency.
Intel’s Core H lineup includes chips for ultraportable, thin gaming laptops as well as chunkier models designed to handle the latest titles at high settings. And, thanks to the new ‘Willow Cove’ core architecture, Intel says the 11th Gen H-series chips boast a 19 percent gen-on-gen improvement to multi-threaded performance.
