2 shootings reported in Greenville County in less than 12 hours
The Greenville County Sheriff s Office is investigating two shootings since Monday night, Lt. Ryan Flood said Tuesday morning. Investigators say the shootings are unrelated.
On Tuesday morning, deputies received a 911 hang-up call around 7:25 a.m. that came from Intown Suites on Mauldin Road, according to a press release from the Sheriff s Office. When deputies arrived, they located a man in the motel parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to Flood.
Preliminary reports indicated that the shooting followed an altercation, Flood said.
The victim was transported to the hospital, and no information on his condition was available from the Sheriff s Office as of 9:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Police met with the owner of the home on Hal Drive who said that she needed to deliver some paperwork to a tenant living in her rental home. The woman said there has been a history of disorders between her and the tenant in the past, so she wanted an officer to stand by while she delivered an eviction notice to the tenant. The tenant was given the eviction papers with no issue and the woman left the scene.

A woman on Jersey Pike told police that her unlocked vehicle was unlawfully entered and ransacked. She said no items were taken, only thrown around in the vehicle. She said that she is worried due to her having personal information in the vehicle, but has had no indication that her identity is being used. No suspect information is known. No damage was done to the vehicle. A woman called police and said she was driving south on I-75 in a construction zone just before the 24/75 split.
Police standoff at Columbia hotel ends with arrest

CPD negotiators were on scene at the InTown Suites in the Harbison area.
Managers of the hotel called 9-1-1 for police help around noon when the man refused to leave his room.
CPD says the suspect, 60-yr-old Robert McClain will be charged with pointing & presenting & trespassing after notice. Hotel management told to him leave after an overdue stay at the location.
Some hotel guests had been evacuated as a precaution, though CPD insisted there was no threat to the general public.
Around 10 p.m. CPD notified the public that officers safely went inside the hotel room, found the man and arrested him without any issues.
