A man was killed after being hit by a bus in Dhaka s Badda area this morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Halim Patwary, 55, a sweets seller.
The accident took place at Madhya Badda area around 6:30am when he was on his way to Tongi from his house to buy sweets.
An unidentified bus hit him, leaving him critically injured, according to witnesses. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 8:00am, victim s son Ahsan Habib said, quoting pedestrians.

A former joint director of Bangladesh Rural Development Board died this evening, hours after he was in a road accident in Dhaka s Mirpur area.
Akbar Hossain, 68, a retired official, went out of his house for a walk when a covered van hit him near Sony Cinema Hall around 6:15am.

The dead man has been identified as Golam Mostofa, 60. He lived in the city’s Rampura area.
The accident came as public transport services resumed in the city corporation areas on Wednesday after being shut for two days amid the lockdown.
The Azimpur-bound Thikana Paribahan bus hit the autorickshaw near the New Market area on Wednesday morning, causing the vehicle to overturn and subsequently injuring the driver, Dhaka Medical police outpost Inspector Bachchu Mia said.
After the accident, Golam’s body was recovered and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where a doctor declared him dead.

An auto-rickshaw driver died after a bus hit his vehicle in Dhaka s New Market area this morning.
The deceased was identified as Golam Mostafa (60), a resident of Rampura area.
The accident occurred when an Azimpur-bound Thikana Paribahan bus hit the auto-rickshaw around 7:15am. Mostafa sustained critical injuries after the auto-rickshaw flipped over.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said Shipu Hawlader, who took the victim to the hospital.
The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, said Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
