A MAJOR drugs bust in Greenock has led to the seizure of almost £100,000 in street valium. A 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the recovery of Etizolam pills worth an estimated street value of £90,000. The raid happened at 6am on Wednesday when officers, acting under a warrant following a tip-off, searched an address on Redpoll Place, just off Mavis Road. More than 170,000 tablets were removed. Police say that the man who was detained has been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date Detective Inspector Robert Bowie, from Renfrewshire & Inverclyde’s Serious & Organised Crime Team, has hailed the recovery.

Three face court after being arrested in connection with major drugs raids in Greenock

THREE people will face court early in the new year after being arrested in connection with major drugs raids in Greenock which netted £250k worth of heroin, cocaine and cannabis. The trio were held in the early hours of Tuesday after police swooped on no fewer than five different addresses in Larkfield. The operation was led by the Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Serious and Organised Crime Team, assisted by local uniform officers. During searches of two properties, heroin, cocaine and cannabis worth an estimated street value of £250,000 were discovered, as well as a five-figure sum of cash. Two women, aged 31 and 16, and a 56-year-old man were all held and police say that enquiries are continuing.
