New manager Paul Cook held his first press conference this afternoon with TWTD present. Here s a full transcript of what he had to say in two parts.
Welcome, congrats on the new job, how have the first 48 hours been as Ipswich Town manager?
Hectic, very hectic, to say the least. Obviously we travelled back from the game at Accrington [on Tuesday night] which was great, especially off the back of a really solid win.
Then we got into the club yesterday to meet a few different people. [General manager of football operations] Lee [O’Neill], myself and Gary had a really good day at the club.

O Neill: Is Paul Cook the Next Town Manager? I Don t Have the Answer to That Question
Monday, 1st Mar 2021 15:01
Lee O’Neill said he “didn’t have the answer to that question” when asked whether Paul Cook would be the next manager of Town at a lunchtime press conference.
O’Neill, the Blues’ general manager of football operations was asked where the search for a new boss is, Paul Lambert having departed yesterday evening.
“That’s with Marcus, he’ll be doing his due diligence around looking at what is available and the people out there for the next manager of Ipswich Town Football Club,” he said.
O Neill: Lambert s Exit Cumulation of Things and Not Related to Proposed Takeover
Monday, 1st Mar 2021 14:37
General manager of football operations Lee O’Neill says Paul Lambert’s departure from Town last night was down to a “a cumulation of things” and insists the Scot’s exit has nothing to do with the proposed US-backed takeover.
While there had long been a clamour among fans for Lambert, 51, to be handed his cards by the club, the timing might have been seen as surprising from the outside with the Blues having won back-to-back games for the first time since October and moved up to eighth, only two points off the play-offs.
