Premium Content Subscriber only A MAN on a suspended jail sentence has spent five days in the confines of a cell after he failed to appear in court on new charges. Magistrate David Shepherd told Cecil Anderson that his time in custody should act as a timely reminder to him. “You appear Mr Anderson to be a bit slow to learn”, Mr Shepherd said. Cecil James Anderson, 29, from Leichhardt, pleaded guilty to failing to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on December 15. He also appeared on charges including three counts of driving when drug positive; three counts of driving when unlicensed; three counts of possession of dangerous drugs; possession of unauthorised explosives (ammunition); and operating a motor vehicle subject to a registration plate confiscation.

Alleged drug driver charged after kids found unrestrained

Premium Content Subscriber only A Lowood woman will appear in court after she was busted driving under the influence of drugs on Forest Hill Fernvale Road in Lowood on Wednesday. The 42-year-old was intercepted by the Ipswich Road Policing Unit at 11.45am due to her manner of driving, and was found to be carrying children that were unrestrained. Lowood Police Officer-in-Charge Senior Sergeant James Bromley said the woman was also arrested and conveyed to the Ipswich General Hospital for being under the influence of drugs. She was given a notice to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on February 23, for driving under the influence of drugs and her licence was immediately suspended.

Man accused of baby s murder fronts court

The deceased baby boy s 34-year-old mother was charged in relation to the death just before Christmas. The woman is facing three counts of failing to provide the necessities of life in relation to the child and his two siblings; one count of interfering with a corpse, and one of murder. Police will allege the baby s death stemmed from neglect. On June 21, 2019, paramedics discovered the baby s body, sparking an investigation into his death.   ipswichcourt

Man charged with murder over death of Raceview infant

It is unknown where the suspect was located at the time of his arrest. The latest development comes more than a week following the arrest of a 34-year-old woman in relation to the child s death. She was charged with murder following an investigation which lasted more than a year. Police allege Mr Campbell lived at the Raceview home with the woman at the time of the tragedy. He has been charged with one count each of murder, interfering with a corpse and neglect. The man is due to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday. infant death
