Punjab Chief Secretary (CS) Jawwad Rafique Malik on Tuesday urged the departments concerned to continue with focused efforts in their sectors to ensure proper utilisation of public funds.
He stated this while chairing a meeting of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2021-22 to review province s development profile and in particular the status of ADP 2021-22 in perspective of allocated budget, releases and utilisation of funds.
Planning and Development (P&D) Board Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch told the meeting that against 4,686 unapproved schemes at the beginning of the financial year, 4,046 schemes had been approved till August 2, 2021.

LAHORE: Tuesday’s transfer of the Higher Education Department (HED) secretary is the 18th change of its head during the three-year rule of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaff in the Centre and Punjab.
Posted as HED Secretary in February last, Nadeem Mahbub has now been assigned duty in the Prime Minister Office as additional secretary. His replacement has not been announced yet.
Mr Mahbub had replaced Irum Bukhari as HED head some five months ago after her post was upgraded. Whereas Ms Bujhari had replaced special secretary Muhammad Naeem Ghaus who was given the additional charge of the office.
Prior to that, Mr Ghaus had replaced Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghuman who was transferred and appointed as the Lahore commissioner on Aug 25 last.
LAHORE:The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved six development schemes of various sectors at an estimated cost of Rs 8,089.231 million.The schemes were approved in the 36th meeting.
Punjab governor signs Commercial Court Ordinance 2021

LAHORE: Punjab Planning & Development Board in collaboration with World Bank and International Finance Corporation organised a colloquium on the promulgation of Commercial Court Ordinance 2021 on Monday.
The historical initiative taken by the Punjab government was fully supported by the Lahore High Court. The Lahore High Court notified commercial courts in five districts of Punjab including Lahore.
The ordinance will ensure expeditious disposal of claims arising from commercial transactions by introducing timeframe for decision of suits, e-filing of pleadings and limited number of adjournments.
This landmark reform was part of the government’s ongoing Ease of Doing Business Reforms being led by the Planning & Development Board.
