Split Rock Lighthouse State Park Is Adding A New Campground
The historic Split Rock Lighthouse near Beaver Bay on the shores of Lake Superior is adding it s first drive in camping option. Right now the only way to access the camp sites are by cart or to walk in. The new campground is tentatively planned to open in the Fall, with 46 sites with electric service and a modern shower and bathroom facility.
Park manager Katie Foshay said: lots of people are looking for the drive-in sites. The project will also include a parking lot for hikers and mountain bikes to be able to access the Gitchi-Gami State Trail and some new mountain bike trails being constructed by Lake County next to the park.
Sonic Introducing Slush-Flavored Hard Seltzers
Add this to the list of something I didn t know I wanted until I saw it. Sonic has come out swinging in 2021 with what seems to be their very own line of hard seltzers. What most of us simply thought was a fad just a few years ago has become a billion dollar business. Brewers all over the nation have jumped on the seltzer train to try and get just a sip of the big money the low-carb beverages bring in.
According to Food and Wine, the drive-in has taken their more famous slush recipes and brought them to an Oklahoma City-based brewery called COOP Ale Works. Greg Horton ( @winerev) helped begin spreading the word about the new beverages. He tweeted out the packaging that would be out in stores should this idea actually take off.
SCV Senior Center Schedules Several Drive-In Events For March
The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center at Bella Vida is scheduled to host a new set of outdoor, drive-in events with COVID-19 protocols enforced.
A new line-up of outdoor events, accessible as drive-in activities, is slated to open in March at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center at Bella Vida.
“The Senior Center has been offering these wonderful “Drive In” events for several months – all Covid protocols are strictly enforced,” reads an official statement from the center issued Monday.
The following events are scheduled by the Senior Center for March:
March 6 (Saturday) at 3:00 p.m.-J.R.’s Comedy Club returns for an afternoon of fun and laughter featuring six different comedians on the stage at the Bella Vida parking lot. (minimal charge)
