Abbeville Police have made extradition arrests in connection with a 2019 homicide and a 2020 drive-by shooting in the city.
In August of 2019 Abbeville Police began investigating the homicide of Jacoby Lee after responding to a call at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and S. Guegnon Streets. One of the individuals arrested in that case was Jamie Vallery, on a charge of Principal to Second Degree Murder. Police say Vallery was able to bond out of jail on that charge after his bond was reduced.

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man today entered into a plea agreement to settle a criminal case stemming from a shooting that occurred in Rochester in the fall of 2019.
23-year-old Aries Candler pleaded guilty to a drive-by shooting charge in exchange for the dismissal of a first-degree attempted murder charge, two counts of second-degree assault, and a weapons possession charge. He is scheduled to be sentenced next Monday.
The criminal complaint against Candler says he implicated himself through a text message conversation and was captured on a video recording from a security camera that was near the scene of the shooting. He was accused of opening fire on a man and woman in an SUV on a residential street near Eastwood Golf Course on October 29, 2019. No one was wounded but two bullets struck the SUV and several hit a nearby home.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of 38th and Wallace streets.
Police said a man and two women inside the car were struck several times.
Police recovered shell casings from both a rifle and a handgun at the scene.
Witnesses tell police they saw a light-colored vehicle pull up next to the victims car and the shooters opened fire.
Police are checking surveillance cameras for leads on the gunmen.
