Nia DaCosta is becoming the director du jour for eagerly anticipated sequels. She’ll also make history. The Brooklyn-born auteur, who recently wrapped Jordan Peele’s direct sequel of the 1992 slasher film “Candyman,” has been reportedly tapped to helm the second “Captain Marvel” movie. DaCosta will sit in the director’s chair when “Captain Marvel 2” starts filming, according to Deadline.
