Eid was a family & fun time this year July 24, 2021 Rawalpindi : Pindiites celebrated Eidul-Azha amid tight security and precautionary measures because of coronavirus for the second consecutive year. Enthusiasts offered Eid prayers at mosques in the morning seeking divine blessings, peace, and progress for the country as well as relief from the virus. Those families remained grief-stricken who lost their near and dear ones to the virus as well as those who suffered economically due to the effect of the pandemic. Eid congregations took place under the directives of the government to prevent the spread of the virus. The festivities however, saw many people avoiding hugging each other or shaking hands in view of the raging virus but most remained unafraid of the coronavirus threat. They shook hands and even embraced each other.

Covid 4th wave threat: CM asks cabinet members to avoid gatherings

July 21, 2021 PESHAWAR: In view of the fourth wave of COVID-19 pandemic and its possible outbreak during Eid-ul -Azha, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed all the cabinet members, parliamentary secretaries and Members Provincial Assembly to avoid all indoor and outdoor public interactions/gatherings at their residences, villages and native towns on the occasion of Eid. In a letter issued from Chief Minister’s Secretariat and addressed to all the provincial ministers/advisors/special assistants, parliamentary secretaries and members P the provincial assembly has been urged to strictly follow the COVID Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) in letter and spirit so that the possible outbreak of the pandemic at mass scale could be avoided and the general public guarded against the virus.
