NEGAUNEE, Mich – A joint dock project between Ishpeming and Negaunee is coming to Teal Lake.
One of two docks will be on the west side of Teal Lake in Ishpeming.
The other dock will be on the east side in Negaunee.
“There will be two lakes put in the Teal Lake area, one here right behind me (Negaunee) and one in the Ishpeming area right off of Al Quaal. These docks will be able to accommodate people with disabilities. Older individuals can easily get in and out of the lake using these specialized docks. If you are not familiar with these docks, they are similar to the ones at Clarke Lambros Park, said Nate Heffron, the City Manager of Negaunee. “Also, on the Negaunee side, we will be accommodating the Marquette Rowing Club where they have different long boats that are 40-feet long. They will have a different apparatus here so they can launch onto Teal Lake.”
