Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth is currently on a tour in India. Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday met him and discussed ways to deepen bilateral cooperation in various areas including trade and investment.
During the meeting, Swaraj said there was scope to expand bilateral ties in a range of areas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the 450-km long Kochi-Koottanad-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline built and operated by GAIL India Ltd., to the nation on Tuesday.
GAIL Chairman and MD Manoj Jain at a virtual press conference on Saturday said the regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) has already been flowing from Kochi LNG Terminal of Petronet LNG to Mangaluru (Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd.) heralding a new era in clean and green energy sector. The virtual inaugural programme would also witness participation of Governors and Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Kerala as well as Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from 11 a.m.

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a modified scheme for interest subvention for ethanol production, expanding the scheme to include grain-based distilleries and not just molasses-based ones.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the decision would encourage ethanol production from grains like barley, maize, corn and rice. The expenditure on the scheme would be ₹8,470 crore, of which ₹4,573 crore was approved on Wednesday, he said. He said the scheme would boost production and distillation capacity to 1,000 crore litres and help in meeting the goal of 20% ethanol blending with petrol by 2030.
Cabinet approves assistance of Rs 3,500 crore for sugarcane farmers Screen Grab The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved assistance of three thousand 500 crore rupees for sugarcane farmers. Briefing the media in New Delhi after the Cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, Cabinet has taken the decision to help farmers directly by depositing money of subsidy into their accounts. It will benefit five crore farmers and five lakh workers.
Mr Javadekar said, CCEA also approved revised cost estimate of North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project for six States for strengthening of the Intra-State Transmission and Distribution Systems. He said, the projects reflect government s commitment to the total economic development of North Eastern Region and to strengthen the Intra-State Transmission and Distribution Infrastructure in the Region.
