FRA:A3Y) announced that it has finalised stage-2 construction early works at its high purity alumina (HPA) plant site in Johor, Malaysia. Stage-2 work involved the completion of the site electrical substation - a key long lead time item. In July 2020, the EPC contractor Metix Malaysia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Germany s SMS group, successfully completed an orderly and structured demobilisation from the site which has remained on care and maintenance since - with 24/7 security, regular site inspections and weed and sediment control in place. The construction office has been retained, so the site is well positioned for the recommencement of construction once project financing is concluded.
