Match Days support the Red Kettle campaign in La Crosse County during final push

The league donated $500 Friday, which comes during a match day.
Members of La Crosse’s Riverfest hosted the match.
Donations of up to $10,000 on Friday were matched.
“We miss Riverfest, but a lot of their smiling faces are back out. And so it’s just a fun day to be out in the community, have our community celebrities of Riverfest out and about and helping the Salvation Army,” said Salvation Army of La Crosse County development director Christina Knudsen.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A lot of thankful parents are putting presents under their Christmas trees thanks to your donations.
The moms and dads picked up those gifts Wednesday at The Salvation Army of La Crosse County’s ‘Angel Giving Tree’ distribution.
Volunteers purchased gifts for more than More than 1,100 local kids.
In addition to those presents, each child will also receive a new outfit.
While there is a need every year, it was even greater this season.
“Some are unemployed, some are underemployed. And so this just helps Christmas not be a downer. Hopefully we’ll end 2020 with a big smile on everybody’s face,” said Salvation Army of La Crosse County Major Jeff Richardson.
La Crosse County businesses, organizations pony up to double Red Kettle donations Saturday

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Several businesses and organizations are collaborating with The Salvation Army of La Crosse County to host the Red Kettle Campaign “Match Day” Saturday.
Ten businesses and organizations will match a total of nearly $25,000 throughout La Crosse County. Each business or organization will match a specific kettle site’s donations.
In addition, Community Match Day will feature a Virtual Red Kettle where supporters can donate online until Monday, Dec. 14.
“Dollars aside – businesses, organizations and individuals are coming together for the greater good of helping people in their communities,” said Christina Knudsen of The Salvation Army. “These businesses and organizations are giving our supporters the chance to double their impact.”
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The holidays are a time of giving.
That was the case Thursday in La Crosse when the Salvation Army got a grant to support the Angel Giving Tree effort.
About $4,000 is helping the effort thanks to a donation by Walmart, which was matched by Pepsi of La Crosse.
The donations will help the program to buy gifts for older kids.
Follow the donations, volunteers went shopping.
They say that in a year that has been so unusual, the donation is really helping families.
“We are really seeing the community come together, and we are finding that there is hope, and that is what is being provided to our families that are in need. And so many are struggling, but as we’re reaching out, we’re able to give that hope. And so there is going to be a lot of good Christmases,” said Salvation Army of La Crosse County development director Christina Knudsen.
