The region weathered its first major snowstorm Wednesday but total snowfall for the area was predicted to fall into distinct zones. Predicted accumulations for Western Montgomery, Northern Chester and Berks counties were tagged for a total between 12 and 18 inches. Areas closer to Philadelphia were forecast to get between 6-8 inches. But that forecast did not daunt 3-year-old Myriam Vas who was out in front of her house on North Hanover Street in Pottstown showing off her shoveling skills.

Super One Foods Matching Red Kettle Donations Up To $50,000
If you re near one of 13 Super One Foods stores in Northland, make sure to donate whatever you can into a Salvation Army Red Kettle between now and Christmas Eve.
The Salvation Army has announced that Super One Foods will match all Red Kettle donations made at any of their stores between now and 12/24/2020 for up to a grand total of up to $50,000.
Due to the pandemic-related challenges of 2020, the Salvation Army launched Rescue Christmas, in an effort to help the increasing number of people in need while facing a the reality of having fewer resources available.
I was impressed with the $2,000 rare coin that someone donated this week over in Corpus Cristi, Texas. For once, not everything is bigger in Texas. Some kettles up in Oklahoma got a bunch of rare coins.
I always love hearing about the massive donations to the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign at this time of the year. Especially in 2020, this money will help those who are struggling around the holidays. Every year we hear about massive donations that come in and it looks like some people in possession of some rare coins are feeling generous this year.
Today we re hearing about some red kettles up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Five different kettles had a bunch of rare coins in them. If you re anything like me, you re not a coin collector and have no idea what the value of one gold coin is from another. Tulsa Gold and Silver said the collection of coins was valued at $14,586. Wow!
