The organizers of the online conference, part of the forum, announced on their website that it will now take place from 1 March to 3 March. The program includes addresses by the ambassadors of France and Germany to Iran, according to the forum’s website presentation
Last December, a Europe-Iran Business Forum was cancelled following protests over the sentencing to death and execution of a dissident Iranian journalist, Ruhollah Zam.
At the time, several European countries, including France, Germany and Italy, protested the execution and pulled out of the online forum at which both EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javid Zarif were due to speak.
Commodities worth $174m exported to Oman in 8 months
Iran has exported products worth $174 million to Oman during the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-November 20, 2020), according to the data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The IRICA data indicate that steel and related products accounted for over 35 percent of the exports during the mentioned time span.
In January 2020, Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) held the first meeting of its Commodity-Country Desk on trade with Oman presided by Farzad Piltan, the director-general of TPO’s Office of Arabian and African Countries.
The meeting was aimed at investigating the ways for increasing exports of constructional materials to Oman and removing the barriers related to transporting these materials to the Arab country, and was participated by the related state-run and private sector officials including representatives of some exporting and marine trans

The value of Iran s exports to Arab countries reached $8.565 billion during the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year which started in March, the
Fars news agency reported a senior trade official saying.
According to the Director-General of Iran s Trade Promotion Organisation (TPO) s Office of Arabian and African Countries, Farzad Piltan, the Islamic Republic s five Arab trade partners are Iraq with about $5.3 billion worth of exports, followed by the UAE with about $3.7 billion, Oman with exports worth $244 million, followed by Kuwait and Qatar.
