SJA’s Mjolnir Messiah is 2020 top CSEC student

Mjolnir Messiah is Antigua and Barbuda’s most outstanding student in the 2020 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations, the Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries announced yeaterday.
Messiah, a former student of St Joseph’s Academy sat and passed 21 subjects, securing 16 Grade Ones and 5 Grade Twos.
Director of Education, Clare Browne, on Thursday morning contacted Mjolnir’s mother, Natasha Messiah with the exciting news and conveyed congratulations on behalf of the ministry.
“I am thrilled to applaud Mr Mjolnir Messiah on his outstanding achievement at the 2020 CSEC examinations. Make no mistake about it, even as I celebrate with him today, I make bold to say that I expect to hear of his non-stop advancement well into the far flung future,” Browne stated.

Scarborough Secondary student Dejean Lewis, 18, has been described as a role model for other young people.
With excellent school grades, his own business and a plan for his career, he seems to fit that description perfectly.
But Lewis still believes he has a long way to go before being given that status.
The Parlatuvier teenager topped the country in mechanical engineering in the 2019 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams.
The University of Malta has announced measures to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on candidates sitting for the Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) and Matriculation examinations for entry to the Junior College and the university (UM) respectively.
It said that all SEC and MATSEC exams (with the exception of SEC Physical Education Practical) will be held according to the timetable issued in October 2020. Results are expected to be published in mid-August 2021 and, therefore, application deadlines for entry to the University and Junior College will be extended accordingly.
Normal entry requirements shall apply for admission to the Junior College and to the University of Malta in October 2021.
SFCC Hosts Virtual Commencement Ceremony May 15

SANTA FE Santa Fe Community College announces that it will host a Virtual Commencement Ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15. While graduates won’t be on campus, they will be celebrated as their names and awards are announced during a live stream on YouTube at https://youtu.be/tUtbBgCn4aA and on SFCVTV-16 on Comcast.
The virtual ceremony will salute graduates who completed either in the Spring semester or Summer term.
“I’m excited and proud to recognize the Spring 2021 graduating class,” said President Becky Rowley, Ph.D.
These students really persisted through the worst of the pandemic. Most of our students have spent the past year taking classes online. Some of our graduates needed to follow strict safety protocols to get hands-on skills and professional guidance such as our welding students and those in the health care field.
