The SSgt Andrew P Nelson award for outstanding leaderships and service was developed to recognize local veterans who quietly make a difference in their community in the way that they work, volunteer and make life better for others. Dr. Dale Miller, assistant principal at Davies High School, has been named the North Dakota Assistant Principal of the Year by the North Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals (NDASSP). Now designated a state winner by NDASSP, Miller is eligible to be the 2021 NASSP National Assistant Principal of the Year. When Davies High opened in 2011, Dale moved to an assistant principal at Davies High school where he is currently working.

Michigan extends indoor dining ban but allows casinos, cinemas, bowling alleys to reopen Lansing Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and state officials have extended a ban on in-person dining at restaurants through Jan. 15, while reopening casinos, bowling alleys and stadiums as well as allowing for in-person learning at Michigan high schools. The casinos, cinemas, bowling alleys and stadiums are allowed to reopen on Monday with restrictions, according to a Department of Health and Human Services document obtained by The Detroit News.
