Gil Brandt s pro comparisons for draft s top pass rushers
Coverage of the 2021 NFL Draft is kicking into high gear now that the first round begins in just over two weeks.
NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt previewed a few of the top pass rushers in the class by creating NFL comparisons for each player.
As Brandt notes in the introduction, Thinking about the value of using concrete results to assess hypothetical upside, I ve compared five of the top pass-rushing prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft with established pro players who best illustrate the prospects potential. These comparisons are not intended to be perfect mirror images, nor are they intended to suggest the prospects will definitely become as good as the pros they re being compared to.

On Tuesday afternoon Ayo Dosunmu officially declared for the 2021 NBA Draft. While he had done that before, it was different this time around. Dosunmu committed to Illinois at the Jordan Store in downtown Chicago in October 2017, hammering home the in-state connection he holds with the Illini but also his goal of returning Illinois to where he believed it belongs:

ESPN’s Todd McShay Projects Colts to Select Michigan Edge Kwity Paye in Recent 2021 NFL Mock Draft
According to ESPN’s
Kwity Paye with the 21st overall selection
Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan
The Colts lost Denico Autry to the division-rival Titans, and Justin Houston remains unsigned. That means DeForest Buckner is the only player with at least five sacks in 2020 set to return for 2021. Indy’s defensive strength is a big part of its identity, and Paye has explosive speed off the edge. The production hasn’t caught up to the ability just yet, but his ceiling is very high. Alternatively, the Colts could target a defensive back or maybe reach a little bit for a receiver.
