The Rhodes Scholarships for Kenya:
A Partnership between the Rhodes Trust and the Second Century Founder, John McCall MacBain O.C. Each year, there are two Scholarships available for Kenya.
The Rhodes Scholarships, established in 1903, are the oldest international scholarship programme in the world, and one of the most prestigious. Administered by the Rhodes Trust in Oxford, the programme offers 100 fully-funded Scholarships each year for postgraduate study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom – one of the world’s leading universities. Rhodes Scholarships are for young leaders of outstanding intellect and character who are motivated to engage with global challenges, committed to the service of others and show promise of becoming value-driven, principled leaders for the world’s future. Josh Carter won a 2017 Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford University. Carter is interested in developing smart prosthetics, and to do so, has completed two distinct degrees in mechanical Engineering and in microbiology.
The Rhodes Scholarships are the oldest and most celebrated international fellowship awards in the world. Each year 32 young students from the United States are selected as Rhodes Scholars, through a decentralized process representing the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories. The Board of Governors of McGill University approved the nomination of John McCall MacBain, as the 20th Chancellor of McGill University. Mr. McCall MacBain has been appointed for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2021. He will succeed Chancellor Michael A. Meighen, whose current term will end on June 30, 2021. His nomination stems from a rigorous process that was launched earlier this fall by the Nominating, Governance and Ethics Committee, and the Recruitment and Succession Planning Sub-committee.
Originally from Niagara Falls, Ontario, John McCall MacBain attended McGill University on scholarship to study Economics, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980. During his time at McGill, he was deeply involved in student life, including serving as President of the Students Society. In his final year he was named Valedictorian. Mr. McCall MacBain subsequently obtained a law degree from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, followed by an MBA from Harvard Bu

Cadets Tyrese Bender, Class of 2021, of San Antonio, and Cadet Evan Walker, Class of 2021, of Rowlett, will part of the most diverse class of Rhodes Scholars, according to CBS News.
CBS News reports 21 of the recipients across the country are people of color and 17 are women.
“Cadets Tyrese Bender and Evan Walker have both found creative and bold ways to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion through their leadership and studies at West Point. I look forward to the change and growth they will lead as Rhodes Scholars for the U.S. Army, our nation, and the world,” Brig. Gen. Cindy Jebb, Dean of the Academi
