Second Judicial District Court Judge Egan Walker has tested positive for COVID-19 and is recovering at Northern Nevada Medical Center.
Walker said he sent in a test from home on Nov. 28 and received his test results on Dec. 4 before heading to the hospital for treatment two days later.
According to Chief Judge Scott Freeman, the courthouse has been closed to the public since Gov. Steve Sisolak announced new COVID-19 restrictions on Nov. 22. Walker hasn’t been at the court for at least the last 30 days, and judges have been conducting their trials from home The courthouse has been closed to the public and Judge Walker, under no circumstances, caught it related to his duties working for our community, Freeman said.
