Winchester walkers raise thousands for Blood Cancer UK

FUNDRAISERS walked the equivalent of travelling from Winchester Cathedral to York Minster in aid of charity last month. Members of the Blood Cancer UK Winchester Fundraising Group took part in the first national Walk of Light. The group’s original fundraising target of £1,000 was exceeded five-fold and the current total stands at £5,330, contributing valuable funds for blood cancer research and support of blood cancer sufferers. Thirty supporters, with ages ranging from four to 70 years, walked with those in their household or bubble, choosing their own route and distance. The combined distances walked was the equivalent of going from Winchester Cathedral to York Minster.
