Baghdad [Iraq], April 30 (ANI/Xinhua): An Iraqi lawmaker said on Thursday that Iraq may re-impose some health restrictions including a full curfew during the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, as the Ministry of Health reported 6,926 new COVID-19cases.
Ghaiyb al-Omairi, a member of the parliamentary health committee, said in a press release that the committee presented several recommendations to the Higher Committee for Health and National Safety regarding the epidemiological situation, including suspending partial study in schools and universities and re-imposing full curfew in the country during the holiday of Eid al-Fitr in mid-May at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Baghdad [Iraq], April 26 (ANI/Xinhua): The Iraqi Ministry of Health reported on Sunday 6,034 new coronavirus cases, raising the total nationwide number to 1,031,322, a day after a huge fire killed dozens in a hospital treating coronavirus patients in the capital Baghdad.

The devastating fire at the Coronabirus hospital in Baghdad has killed at least 80 people and injured more than 100, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said it has caused allegations of corruption and neglect in the health ministry as it erupts in the pandemic.
An oxygen bomb that exploded on Saturday night exploded and ripped Ibn al-Khatib Hospital out within minutes, the Associated Press reported. A doctor who saw the scene told the news agency that the inflation resembled “volcanic fires”.
Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi he has called for an end to the investigation into the incident in five days and has suspended the health minister, the governor of Baghdad and the district health director of Al Rusafa. He pledged to hold those responsible for “irresponsibility” accountable.
