Dhaka seeks KL’s support to finalise protocol on manpower recruitment Bangladesh has sought Malaysian support to finalise a protocol to amend the existing MoU for recruitment of new Bangladeshi workers for the Malaysian market. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Md Golam Sarwar discussed the issue during his meeting with Malaysian Human Resources Minister M Saravanan on Thursday. Issues related to ongoing programme of regularising undocumented workers, ensuring better housing facilities, vaccination for workers and bringing back Bangladeshi workers who failed to return to their workplaces due to COVID-19 situation were discussed. Secretary General of the Malaysian Human Resources Ministry, Deputy High commissioner at Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur and senior officials were present.

Using the platform, the service seekers can easily get services ranging from passport, legalization and job applications at free of cost. Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has inched forward to become the first full-fledged digital Mission abroad through this initiative. Foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today virtually inaugurated the new digital platform that will be technologically managed by Dotlines. Momen said the current government has taken various initiatives at different foreign missions for the benefit of Bangladeshi expatriates considering their enormous contribution to the country’s economy.

It’s a good year for Bangladesh: Momen 267 DHAKA, March 6, 2021 (BSS) – Foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today said it is a good year for Bangladesh as the county was recommended for graduating from Least Developed Country (LDC) status while celebrating 50 years of its Independence and ‘Mujib Borsho’. “This is year of good news. It’s big achievement for Bangladesh as we are set to celebrate 50 years of our Independence with ongoing celebration of birth centenary of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said while talking about Bangladesh’s graduation from the LDC status. The United Nations Committee for Development Policy recommended Bangladesh’s graduation from LDC last month.
