Leadership calls for US pressure on Israel to halt Gaza onslaught, Jerusalem expulsions
RAMALLAH, Monday, May 17, 2021 (WAFA) – The Palestinian leadership today called for intensified US pressure on Israel to halt the ongoing onslaught on Gaza and the forced expulsions of Palestinian from Jerusalem.
Fatah Central Committee member, Hussein al-Sheikh, General Intelligence chief, Majid Faraj, and President Mahmoud Abbas’ Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi Khaldi, urged the US to spare no effort and bring every pressure on the Israeli occupation authorities to immediately stop their aggression against Gaza as well as the forced displacements of Palestinians from Jerusalem, particularly the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, respect the holy places and bring the unbridled settler terrorism to an end.

Muscat: The Sultanate today took part in a meeting of the open-membership Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss the Israeli aggressions against Palestinian people in Jerusalem, Gaza Strip and elsewhere in the Palestinian territories.
Sheikh Khalifa Ali al-Harthy, Foreign Ministry’s Under-Secretary for Diplomatic Affairs represented the Sultanate at the meeting, held via video-conferencing at the ministerial level.
In his speech at the meeting, al-Harthy voiced Oman’s condemnation of Israeli forces’ overtaking of Al Aqsa Mosque yards and reaffirmed the Sultanate’s rejection of Israel’s policies of expulsion of Palestinians from their homes in the city of Al Quds. Oman also flayed Israel s invasion of Gaza Strip, noting that Israel s military forces killed hundreds of innocent people and flattened their homes.

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi received Senator Chris Murphy, US senator; and Tim Lenderking, US Special Envoy to Yemen.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed overall developments in Yemen and efforts exerted to end the war, that aimed at achieving peace and stability in the country through a comprehensive political process.

Alawi holds talks with Qatari foreign minister

MUSCAT: Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, received at the Foreign Ministry on Monday Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani, Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar.
The meeting reviewed the existing cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries and means of strengthening them, as well as issues of common concern.
