This is the transcript of an interview between Michael McKenna, columnist for The Washington Times, and Rep. Lee Zeldin, a New York Republican who is running to replace Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2022.
What is your bio?
I am a proud New Yorker born and raised. The short time I didn’t live in New York, I was in the Army on active duty for four years. I grew up on Long Island and went to college and law school at SUNY Albany.

Ever since the PUP were voted into office on November 11, 2020, it appears like the drug cartels have been landing drug planes in Belize more regularly. It is as if though the drug plane landings and the PUP are coexisting. One would have thought with the military and security background of the persons at the very top of Belize’s Ministry of National Defence and Border Security, drug plane landings in Belize would be a thing of the past. After all the Minister is a highly trained Military Officer, his deputy is a highly trained Military Intelligence Officer, and the CEO is a former Commandant of the Belize Defense Force. With that type of expertise and experience at the very top of our National Security Apparatus, the drug cartels should have been staying away from Belize, but the opposite is happening; they are gravitating towards Belize.
