Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday stressed that all state institutions, along with the army, stand by him amid mounting pressure from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
The prime minister, in an interview with
Samaa TV, said: There are excellent civil-military ties in the country.
Speaking further about the civil-military dynamic, he said that the army serves under him as he is the prime minister, and as the army is a government institution.
Meanwhile, speaking about the Opposition s criticism of the army, he said that anger and disappointment prevailed among the ranks after Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa was targeted.

RAWALPINDI: British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Christian Turner on Thursday met Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and praised the Army’s role in the Afghan peace process, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
According to ISPR, British High Commissioner Dr Turner, called on the Army chief. Matters of mutual interest and overall regional security situation were discussed during the meeting. “The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan Army’s role in Afghan peace process and maintaining peace and stability in the region,” the ISPR added.

Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday praised Pakistan Air Force and noted that its personnel s high morale and professionalism makes it second to none.
“PAF’s cutting edge aside, what makes it second to none is the high morale and thorough professionalism of its personnel, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, citing the chief of army staff.
The army chief s remarks came as he visited an operational base of the PAF to witness Pakistan-China joint air exercise “Shaheen-IX”.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday said that Pakistan would continue to back efforts for regional peace and stability.
He extended this assurance to United States Special Envoy for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad who is visiting Pakistan along with Gen Austin Scott Miller, US Commander Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan.
Ambassador Khalilzad’s latest visit is taking place at a time when the Afghan government and Afghan Taliban’s negotiation teams announced a 20-day break in their dialogue for ‘consultations’ on the agenda items.
