Diplomatic outreach aims at boosting bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD:
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will undertake a four-nation tour that includes Qatar, Iran, the UAE and Turkey as part of diplomatic outreach to boost bilateral cooperation and discuss the Afghan peace process.
Qureshi will start his tour on April 18 from the United Arab Emirates where he will meet his counterpart. Then he will travel to Iran, Qatar and finally reached Turkey where he will attend the UN conference on Afghanistan, sources familiar with the development said on Friday.

US Secretary of State Antony John Blinken telephoned Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed âlatest developments in Afghan peace processâ, the Pakistani military said Wednesday.
The development comes a day after the US officials said that America is considering pulling out its troops from Afghanistan by September 11.
âPakistan will always support Afghan-led, Afghan-owned peace process based on mutual consensus of all stakeholders,â General Bajwa told Secretary Blinken.

Islamabad, April 9 : Top commanders of the Pakistan Army held a Corps Commander Conference (CCC) to review the overall security situation with a detailed review of the situation at the Line of Control (LoC) after the recent agreement of a ceasefire between New Delhi and Islamabad. The CCC chaired COAS (Chief of Army Staff) held at GHQ (General Headquarter). The participants undertook a comprehensive review of global, regional and domestic security environment, the military s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a tweet.
My bout with Covid

More than a year after Covid-19 struck the world including Pakistan, my bout with this potentially deadly ailment recently was an eye-opener. Needless to say, I embraced the necessary precautions prescribed by top-of-the-line experts.
