In an interview to a private channel, Major General Babar said the recent terrorist attacks has linkage with Afghanistan’s fresh situation which has frustrated the terrorists. “There is a threat of terrorist sleeper cells becoming active again due to the situation in Afghanistan,” he said. “Pakistan Army is keeping a close eye on the situation in the region and is playing its role with utmost seriousness for the successful outcome of the Afghan peace process,” he added.

He was 80. Hussain, who was a PML-N loyalist, served as the 12th President of Pakistan from 2013 to 2018, Dawn reported. He was replaced by Asif Ali Zardari. He was diagnosed with cancer in February last year and was under treatment at a private hospital in the city for some days where he breathed his last. Hussain is survived by a wife and three sons. President Arif Alvi expressed sorrow over Hussain s demise, saying he shared the pain of his bereaved family.
