VOV.VN - Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC have announced plans to launch the third phase of human trials for its locally-produced coronavirus vaccine Nano Covax on May 5, a timeframe which is three months ahead of schedule.

The proposed move to bring forward the next stage of tests comes following positive results recorded in the two previous trials which proved the effectiveness of the vaccine.
According to Do Quyet, director of the Military Medical University, the university is set to send a report in early May which will detail the results of human trials to the Ministry of Health and the Biomedical Research Ethics Council.

HANOI, April 9 (Bernama):Vietnam had completed the second shots of its home-grown Nano Covax Covid-19 in second stage human trials.
Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported that as many as 554 volunteers joined the second-stage human trials and got the second shots over the past 14 days.
According to Director of the Military Medical University’s Centre for Clinical Trials and Bioequivalence, Associate Prof, Dr Chu Van Men, 278 received the jabs from the university on April 8, while 276 others in Ben Luc district were vaccinated by HCM City-based Pasteur Institute.
VNA’s report said that after the injection, the volunteers exhibited symptoms such as light fever, injection site pain, muscle aches, joint pain and fatigue, which did not require medical intervention.

Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia congratulate new Foreign Minister
Foreign ministers of Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia have extended congratulations to Bui Thanh Son on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In a phone talk with his Vietnamese counterpart on April 9, Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith said he believes that Son will lead his ministry in efforts to reap more successes in foreign affairs.
Saleumxay Kommasith is the first foreign minister to make a congratulatory phone call to the Vietnamese newly-appointed minister.

Two COVID-19 vaccines Nano Covax and Covivac, which were studied and developed in Vietnam, have proved to be safe and effective in the first and second clinical trials.

A total of 551 volunteers were given the second Nano Covax shots in the second stage, including 280 in Long An and 271 in Hanoi while 66 received the first Covivac shots in the first stage. The remaining nine in Hanoi will be vaccinated this week.
