DAMASCUS Visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday that China has put forward a four-point proposal on solving the Syrian issue. The Chinese senior diplomat elaborated on the proposal when he met with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad in Damascus, the capital of Syria. (Syria-China-FM-Proposal) KHARTOUM Sudan s Finance Minister Jibril Ibrahim on Friday announced that his country has received relief from its 14.1 billion U.S. dollars debts to Paris Club. Sudan s remaining debts, which stand at 9.5 billion U.S. dollars, have been rescheduled until reaching the completion point in the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative, with suspension of debt service payments during this period, said Ibrahim in a statement. TEHRAN: Iran reported on Thursday 23,655 new Covid-19 cases, a new daily record in the past three months, taking the country s total infections to 3,464,055.
The pandemic has so far claimed 86,592 lives in Iran, up by 201 in the past 24 hours, the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education said in a briefing published on its official website.
A total of 3,086,017 people have recovered from the disease or been discharged from hospitals across the country, while 4,064 remain in intensive care units, the ministry said.
