You Can Now Rent Shelters At Erie County Parks According to his Tweet, most shelters will be available to rent excluding larger shelters and buildings. You can log onto the Erie County Parks and Rec website to reserve your shelter starting on April 12th. The Shelters will be open for use starting on May 15th. Shelters rentals are available May 15th - October 15th. Buildings vary by location. Campsites 1-30 are available from May 1st - November 30th. Campsites 31-72 are available May 15th - Columbus Day. All other non-electric campsites are available Memorial Day Weekend - Columbus Day. When you reserve a shelter you will also have to agree to follow COVID-19 guidelines set up by the State. According to New York State, the seven-day rolling average for Erie County is 5.4 percent, and that number has county leaders concerned. Erie County officials held their weekly COVID-19 press conference Tuesday afternoon. During the briefing the county addressed those new COVID-19 cases, saying they are being driven by people 39-years-old and younger, and the variants are causing problems too. So far, 45-percent of adults living in Erie County have gotten at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 28-percent of adults have gotten both doses.
