Updated: 11:08 AM EDT June 9, 2021 CLARENCE, N.Y. A public works employee was struck by a vehicle in a hit and run accident Tuesday in the Town of Clarence. The Erie County Sheriff s Office says deputies responded to Salt and County Roads around 2:30p for a report of a hit and run accident. The victim, who works for the Erie County Department of Public Works, was in the roadway performing road repairs when a black GM SUV passed a road closure sign on Salt Road and hit the employee.  The driver of the vehicle did not stop and continued east on County Road. The driver is described as an older white male with gray hair and facial hair.  The vehicle is believed to be either a black Chevy or GMC SUV. 

Two Erie County Sheriff s Office vehicles hit on Scajaquada Expressway

Updated: 12:39 PM EDT June 9, 2021 BUFFALO, N.Y. Two Erie County Sheriff s Office vehicles were struck on the Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198) Wednesday morning.  Investigators say a K9 united activated its emergency lights to aid a broken down vehicle in the westbound lanes of the 198 between the Delaware and Elmwood Avenue exits. Shortly after, another vehicle traveling westbound rear-ended the deputy s vehicle causing significant damage.  Both the deputy and his K9 partner were in the vehicle at the time and got medical attention. Their conditions are not known at this time.  While stopped at that accident, a sheriff s crash investigation vehicle was rear-ended in the eastbound lanes. It was stopped in the left lane with its emergency lights activated, according to the sheriff s office.
