Orangetheory exec reveals digital fitness strategy in crowded market

Orangetheory Orangetheory Fitness launched a virtual fitness platform so users can livestream classes at home.  Today 90% of its studios are open, and 70% of members have returned for in-person classes.  Orangetheory classes are harder to replicate at home as they require multiple pieces of equipment.  Orangetheory Fitness is steadily rebuilding its business as the pandemic wages on, but it hasn t been easy.  For one, unlike other studio-based workouts, Orangetheory s bootcamp-style class requires multiple pieces of expensive equipment, making it more cumbersome for consumers to replicate at home. While fitness companies like Peloton or Row House call for a single piece of machinery and thus just one major investment   Orangetheory workouts tend to involve a treadmill, indoor rowing machine, free weights, resistance bands, and a heart rate monitor.

Under new ownership, Ebony magazine has officially relaunched. Its new owner is 34-year-old Eden Bridgeman, daughter of businessman Junior Bridgeman. Eden spoke to Insider about how she s hoping to rebrand Ebony and Jet for the modern era. In the early 1990s, Eden Bridgeman sat underneath a hairdryer in a Louisville beauty shop. Hernandez s short, fruitless deal with Universal Motown had just ended. So he teamed up with Lawrence to produce something new. That day, he found himself playing a tune for Rasheed who was, at the time, working for Cameron Strange, owner and CEO at Westside Indie music publishing.

Faherty founder on how the clothing brand diversified its supply chain

The company weathered the pandemic due to its diversified business model.  It also went on a hiring spree to bring on writers who could develop the storytelling of the brand.  In 2020, clothing brand Faherty had a standout year, according to its twin cofounders Alex and Mike Faherty.  Alex credits one thing that helped keep his company afloat during this time: having a diversified business model and supply chain.  When the company first launched in 2013, the founders made it a priority to have a diverse business, which saw the brand sold in retailers throughout the United States. Its supply chain stretches from South American to Asia, and the company has stores in various geographic locations, such as the Soho neighborhood in Manhattan and Martha s Vineyard.
