Saturday was Community Clean-up Day in Twentynine Palms. Along with the free dumpsters at Luckie Park sponsored by the City and Burrtec, the Rotary Club sponsored some 12 local community groups and sports teams. They were assigned to cleanup neighborhoods identified by residents. The event was highly successful, with literally hundreds of bags of trash removed by the volunteers in areas all around the city. Living in the windy environs of Morongo Basin, trash is a constant problem. To combat the issue, the city of Twentynine Palms partnered with Burrtec Waste and Recycling Services and Twentynine Palms Rotary to host a Community Cleanup Day last Saturday morning.
