Gloria Plank IRON MOUNTAIN Gloria Cena Cram Plank, 77, of Iron Mountain, formerly of Crystal Falls,passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain. She was born August 27, 1943, in La Porte, Ind., daughter of the late Ellen (George) Dahl and Bert Cram. Gloria was baptized in 1953 by the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She attended Crystal Falls Schools and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, class of 1969. Gloria was employed as a school bus driver for the Niagara, Wis. school district and worked as a CNA at Americana for seven years and the Iron County Medical Care Facility for 19 years.

TOM JAYNE IRON MOUNTAIN Realtor Tom Jayne has joined Harris State Wide Real Estate in downtown Iron Mountain after passing his real estate test Dec. 31. Jayne was born and raised in Iron Mountain. After graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 1981, he went to Northern Michigan University, where he studied secondary education, earning his teaching degree and three bachelor of science degrees in history, social studies and criminal justice, with a minor in political science, as well as a masters degree in secondary administration. Jayne retired from education in 2018 after serving three Upper Peninsula school districts over a 32-year period, the last 15 years as a superintendent of schools.

Edward Wahoviak HARTFORD, Wis Edward Lee Wahoviak, 58, of Hartford, Wis., passed away Monday, April 19, 2021, at his home. Ed was born Nov. 14, 1962, in Iron Mountain, the son of Mary Ann (Givogre) Wahoviak and the late Robert A. Wahoviak. After graduating from Iron Mountain High School in 1980, he served in the U.S. Army and then earned his diesel mechanic certificate at MATC. Ed was also known as “Farmer Grandpa” by his grandson, RJ Schoepke, because of his love for animals. RJ also called him the “cat whisperer’ because of all the feral cats Ed would trap, neuter, love and care for. Nightly he had a “cat buffet” on his front porch to make sure these cats were very well fed and taken care of, including providing shelter. He is further survived by his cat “Sweetie” who made her way not only into his heart but into his home and lap.

Arlene L. Butterfield IRON MOUNTAIN Arlene L. Butterfield, 83, of Iron Mountain, was called home to heaven Thursday, April 8, 2021. Arlene was born Oct. 30, 1937, in Iron Mountain. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1955 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Arlene married Glenn Butterfield on Feb. 23, 1957, at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain, and he preceded her in death in 2019. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and shaking dice, and most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. She joins her husband, Glenn; grandson, Alan LaPlante; and son-in-law, Dana LaPlante. She will continue to watch over her son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Julie Butterfield of Kingsford; daughter, Linda LaPlante of Norway; grandchildren, Kelly, Jared and Brandon Butterfield; and great-grandchildren, Jace and Braylon. She will also be busy watching over numerous nieces and nephews, close friends and her special “adopted” daughters Siri and Roc
