Four arraigned in court Griggs GREENVILLE Five people appeared in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Thursday to be arraigned on indictments. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided. Elijah Cook, 22, of Greenville, was arraigned on one count of possession of MDMA, a fifth-degree felony. If convicted, he faces a maximum prison sentence of 12 months, and a maximum fine of $2,500, neither of which are mandatory. Cook pleaded not guilty and was appointed a public defender. He was granted an OR bond and his next appearance is scheduled for May 17. Sean Flatter, 38, of Greenville, faces 24 months in prison and a $5,000 fine, if convicted, two counts of illegal use of food stamps, both fifth-degree felonies. He pleaded not guilty and retained his public defender from a previous case. Flatter was granted an OR bond and his next appearance is scheduled for April 19, which is a combined date with another charge against him.

Reineke, 37, of Bradford, appeared in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Monday via video uplink from the Lorain Correctional Institute, where he is currently incarcerated for violating his post-release control when he was previously released from prison. Reineke was sentenced to three years incarceration with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for failing to register his address after previously being convicted on sexual-related charges. In June of 2015, Reineke was convicted on numerous counts of disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile and pandering obscenity involving a minor. From this, he was sentenced to almost four and a half years in prison.

Four appear in court Cruze GREENVILLE Four people appeared in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Monday. Judge Jonathan P. Hein presided. Gary D. Cruze, 37, of Greenville, entered into an intervention in lieu of conviction (ILC) program after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. As a part of his sentence, Cruze was ordered to report to the adult probation department to complete recommended drug and alcohol treatment programs. The court holds Cruze’s guilty plea as a part of the ILC, and if he fails to comply with treatment recommendations, he will return to court to be sentenced on the original charge.

Five sentenced in court Black GREENVILLE Five people were sentenced in Darke County Common Pleas Court on Friday. Judge Jonthan P. Hein presided. Damian S. Berry, 19, of Versailles, was sentenced to community control sanctions for a period of up to 60 months on four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, all fourth-degree felonies. Berry was also ordered to serve four days in the county jail and complete 50 hours of community service. From now, he will be registered as a tier-two sex offender. If Berry fails to comply, he must serve a 12-month concurrent prison term on each count. John K. Anderson, 33, of New Paris, was sentenced to a 12-month prison term with the ODRC on one count of failing to comply with the order or signal of a peace officer, a third-degree felony, and one count of vandalism, a fifth-degree felony.
