DARKE COUNTY This week’s “Adoptable Pets” feature two canines in need of caring homes from the Darke County Animal Shelter.
Saige, a 4-year-old female Shepherd Mix, is very sweet girl. She is housebroken, crate trained, has been around kids six years of age and up. Saige doesn’t seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter. Saige knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. She definitely likes treats! Saige weighs in at 58 lbs., and has been given her parvo/distemper/lepto vaccine, and bordetella vaccines, and dewormed. Saige is microchipped, and is heart worm negative.

Roman, a 5.5 year-old Rottweiler neutered male, weighing in at 95 lbs, is good boy who is housebroken, who knows basic commands shakes with both paws, and loves to go for car rides, especially as the front passenger! Roman could use some help walking on a leash, and needs a strong leader who will be willing to take the time with him for training. Roman is up-to-date on his rabies, Bordatella, Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines, and dewormed. Roman is also microchipped. Come in and meet Roman and other adoptable dogs at the Darke County Animal Shelter, located at 5066 County Home Road in Greenville. Have another dog? Just bring him or her along for a “meet and greet.” The Shelter is open Monday through Friday (8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.), and Saturday, (9 to 11:30 a.m.) Just stop by or call 937-547-1645.

Chief doesn’t seem to mind the company of other dogs at the shelter and is eager to meet new people. Chief did great for his exam where he was given Bordatella, Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. GREENVILLE The 7th Annual Scentral Park Dog Park 5K Walk/Run will be held Saturday May 1, 2021, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Darke County Fairgrounds.
Bring your dog along as a participant to walk or run with you. All dogs must be on a leash, in a stroller/wagon or be carried. Don’t have a dog? No problem! Come, join the race, and walk or run among friends for a great cause. Medals will be awarded to those racing with dogs as well as those racing without. Same day registration at the fairgrounds is available, and early registration is encouraged at www.gtraces.com
