BASF chemical incident prompts heavy response

GREENVILLE An industrial incident involving the overheating of two chemical totes at BASF of Greenville prompted the response of both the Greenville Fire Department and BASF’s own Emergency Response Team.
At approximately 7:34 p.m., emergency personnel from the Greenville Fire Department and Greenville Township Rescue responded along with officers from the Greenville City Police Department, Deputies from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol to 1175 Martin Street in Greenville in reference to a chemical tote smoking and possibly on fire.
