ICSO streamline process
Sheriff Darren Campbell with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has reported some personnel changes. Due to investments in technology, two positions within the office were combined to save the taxpayers money. The process to apply for new and renew concealed handgun carry permits (CHP) has been streamlined, which is incredibly helpful considering the numbers for these are on the rise.
For those who currently hold a concealed handgun carry permit, no appointment is required. All renewals are to be completed online, for $75. Print and complete the application, upload, mail or fax it in. Once the application has been approved, you then come to the Sheriff’s Office with your ID to pick up your permit. Also, to note that if you are within six weeks of renewal, you can apply online, but the system will not let you set appointment if it’s outside the available appointments. Instead, call the ICSO to make an appointment.
