Wingspan Development Group and Batson-Cook Development Co. have started construction on its 300-unit community south of downtown Milwaukee.
The joint venture expects to deliver the first units of its community, Hub13, by the end of 2021 and to complete the project in fall 2022.
The garden-style community will have its units spread across nine two- and three-story buildings that offer studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans ranging in size from 582 to 1,380 square feet. Hub13’s amenities will include a fitness center, yoga studio, clubhouse, pool, dog park and coworking offices. Residents will also be able to access their units and the amenities through their mobile phones with the community’s technology and safety system.
Pre-leasing starts at new 192-unit apartment building in Mount Prospect May 7, 2021
Wingspan Development Group, a privately held national development firm active in the multifamily and mixed-use sectors, today announced pre-leasing is underway for Maple Street Lofts, a new, six-story, 192-unit luxury rental community with a convenient ground-floor Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Market grocery store at 207 S. Maple St. in downtown Mount Prospect, Ill., a northwest suburb of Chicago.
Located at Maple Street and Prospect Avenue, across the street from the Mount Prospect Metra station – which offers easy access to downtown Chicago – the transit-oriented development (TOD) is also steps to downtown Mount Prospect’s shops, services, restaurants and community events. Maple Street Lofts will welcome its first move-ins this summer.
Delinquent rent in Chicago could now exceed $1B, according to a survey released last week by the Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance, a group of small and midsized Chicago landlords.
The high level of delinquency brought about by the coronavirus pandemic is leading to neighborhood disinvestment. With their revenue plunging to historic lows, 65% of landlords surveyed said they expect to make fewer capital improvements. In addition, nearly half expect to cut down on repairs and maintenance.
“With so much delinquent rent, many housing providers lack the funds to continue to maintain their properties,” NBOA President Michael Glasser said in a press release.
