Itâs a trying time for the hospitality industry. What with dining out restricted or shut in the big metros, ordering in and supporting restaurants is the best we can do. Several new openings and delivery menus have popped up in the last month or so. Weâve rounded up an edit of the new places and menus to bookmark for your next meal.

Saffron by The Sassy Spoon
The city has a new contemporary Indian kitchen in the form of Saffron, started by the folks at The Sassy Spoon. After opening in Pune, the cloud kitchen has now started operations in Mumbai. Choose from an extensive spread of tandoor specialties, biryanis and other regional fare. Think, Tomato Shorba Soup with green garlic thecha vadis, Kerala-style Paneer, Tandoori Mustard Wings, Mutton Rogan Josh biryani and indulgent desserts from Rachel Goenkaâs repertoire, like the Kala Jamun Bread and Butter Pudding and Chocolate Barfi Cheesecake.

This month, David wanted to highlight some of our community’s best Sushi restaurants in hopes to provide you, our readers, with a new favorite spot while also helping these restaurants regain some of the business they may have lost during the pandemic. We used to work together at another local Japanese restaurant, said William, who originally is from Indonesia.
As for the other two business partners, one of them has a (local) Japanese restaurant and one used to live in Hawaii, said William, adding the latter also has a poke restaurant in Pensacola. We just put it all together.
Wooden letters, painted to resemble the U.S. flag, spell out the restaurant name on one of the sky-blue walls. A surfboard sign is adorned with Panama City, while another sign says mahalo ( thank you in Hawaiian).
Menu boards hang on the wall behind the counter, where customers order, pay and grab a number for the table. Paper menus detail even more options. If you need a minute or five, you re encouraged to sit down at a booth and take your time, and William is happy to help with suggestions.
