FSIN calls for charges against Saskatoon FreshCo security guard
A video circulating on Facebook of an attempted arrest of an Indigenous woman by a loss prevention officer in the parking lot of a Saskatoon’s FreshCo grocery store is drawing condemnation.
The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations is calling for immediate dismissal and charges to be laid against the grocery store security guard.
The video was allegedly recorded outside FreshCo on 33rd Street West on Wednesday afternoon.
In it, a man can be seen repeatedly trying to subdue a woman, accusing her of shoplifting from the store.
The struggle carries on for over nine minutes as the man as the unidentified security guard is trying to apprehend the Indigenous woman on the ground.
