The company is the UK s largest supplier of off-grid renewable energy solutions and provides solar lighting, power and security solutions to some of the largest infrastructure, rail and construction projects across Britain.
Thanks to funding from specialist SME lender, Shawbrook Bank, Prolectric is now in prime position to take advantage of increased demand for sustainable alternatives to traditional diesel power.
“The facilities from Shawbrook will provide the business with an enhanced platform from which to achieve our planned growth as well as fund increased stock levels said Gregg Poulter, Chief Financial Officer at Prolectric. As a business, we’ve been driving towards the provision of more sustainable lighting, power and security solutions for our clients and we firmly believe that there is huge potential for growth in this area. Our product range, complete with its strong green credentials, offers significant advantages over traditional generat
Lightsource bp signs power contract with Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty for 153 MW solar project in Texas
Friday, 08 January 2021 Lightsource bp has secured a proxy generation power purchase agreement (pgPPA) with the Capital Solutions unit of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS), in partnership with Nephila Climate.
The pgPPA is for electricity generated by Lightsource bp’s 153 megawatt Briar Creek solar farm, located in Navarro County Texas.
A pgPPA is an innovative renewable energy contract structure intended to manage weather related risk. A pgPPA is similar to a virtual PPA, except it settles energy on a proxy generation index rather than the metered generation. Proxy generation is an hourly index that specifies the volume of energy that a project would have produced if it had been operated as specified by the developer or owner. REsurety, Inc. provided analysis in support of the transaction and will serve as the calculation agent for the life of the contrac

The grid connection works are being performed in two parts, as they include different routes within the port. The first part is performed by the infrastructure subcontractor Yehimovitz Suissa Ltd, in the shipyard area of the Port of Jaffa, and will be completed by the end of January. Once these works are finalised the company will move forward to the second part of the grid connection route, which will be span across the warehouse area of the port. The works consist of removing the upper layer of asphalt in the dedicated grid connection route and preparing the tunnels necessary for the electric cables.
Friday, 08 January 2021 Strongly committed to sustainable transport, Swiss haulier Rhyner Logistik has just acquired a fully electric Renault Trucks D Wide Z.E. to supply Denner supermarkets, which has just been fitted with solar panels on its body in order to provide power to the refrigeration unit. The fully-electric Renault Trucks 26 tonne D Wide Z.E. joined the company s one hundred-strong fleet and now supplies the Denner supermarkets in Zurich and its suburbs.
The solar panels fitted onto the vehicle body provide additional green energy for the refrigeration unit. This system is particularly suited to temperature-controlled transport, because it is when outside temperatures are high - and the sun is therefore strong - that the cooling is most needed.
Vortex Bladeless is an early startup that designs, manufactures and commercialises multi-patented bladeless wind turbines. It is based on a new concept of harnessing wind energy that is competitive in conventional wind farms but is also suitable for distributed energy mixing with solar panels. In the future it may also be become suitable for offshore deployment. The project claims it is able to reduce manufacturing costs by 53 percent compared to conventional multi-blade wind power generators, as it removes the most expensive components associated with the blades, nacelle and tower. This means that Vortex also has much lower maintenance costs, as there are no moving parts that require periodic lubrication or replacement. Additionally, there are no components that could, even theoretically, pose a risk to bird life or emit noise disturbance, and for this reason several environmental groups, including the SEO Birdlife Association are actively supporting the project. The project has
