SPRINGFIELD, Ill. The Illinois Department of Public Health on Sunday reported 3,292 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19, including 40 additional deaths.
Between Saturday and Sunday, state labs reported 90,138 tests were conducted for a total 15,409,832.
As of Saturday night, 2,994 Illinois residents were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 617 patients were in the ICU and 321 patients were on ventilators.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate for Jan. 17–23 is 4.8%.
Approximately 524,050 doses have been allocated to the federal government’s Pharmacy Partnership Program for long-term care facilities, bringing Illinois’ total doses to 1,636,775.
IDPH said a total of 681,473 vaccines have been administered, including 106,274 at long-term care facilities.

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health on Monday announced that Region 2, which includes Bureau, LaSalle, Putnam, Marshall and Livingston County and Region 1, which includes Lee and DeKalb County can move to Phase 4 of COVID-19 restrictions. The new guidelines allow for restaurants and bars to accommodate parties of up to 10 people and social events can have up to 50 people or 50% of room capacity.
