COVID-19 in Iowa: No additional deaths, 1,905 coronavirus cases reported

From staff reports Des Moines Register The Iowa Department of Public Health on Friday was reporting no additional COVID-19 deaths and an additional 1,905 confirmed cases. At 10 a.m. Friday, the state was reporting no additional COVID-19-related deaths since the state s tally at 10 a.m. Thursday, according to the state s website.  The state has not reported any Iowans having died from the virus since Dec. 13, though there is a lag between the person dying and the death being confirmed and reported by IDPH as COVID-19-related. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus. The state was reporting at 10 a.m. Friday that there are 264,115 confirmed cases of coronavirus, an increase of 1,905 since 10 a.m. Thursday.
